It originally started out as an ‘I NEED work trousers shopping trip’.
But after walking around the likes of New Look, Topshop, River Island, Next, Dorothy Perkins – even knowing they had maternity ranges but apparently not in store, it’s all online, and having what I will gracefully call ‘a hissy fit’ due to finding this out – I decided to just shop.
I thought, why not just buy a size bigger from the standard collections and be happy.
Then, just as all hope was lost, we were told H&M had a maternity section. IN STORE!
Although I always hear grand things about H&M, it’s not a shop I generally shop in. But, I NEEDED work trousers, so today was not a day to complain. So off we went and yes, there was a (small) but adequate maternity section, WITH black work trousers!
£97 later – a pair of work trousers, a jumper dress, a top for work and a pair of jeans, I had a smile on my face. I then decided to take myself to Topshop for some jumpers. I bought this lovely horse print jumper, a grey/charcoal thin long sleeved top and an olive/army coloured drop hem oversized T-Shirt.
We also stopped by Matalan for some work type jumpers, where I bought this grey jumper, gold/brown cardigan, which I thought would go well for dressing up simple tees etc for the coming festive season and this lovely purple/maroon sequin jumper.
I learned this day that I should never doubt myself or the shops, there’ll ALWAYS be something to buy.
