As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been on the search for a new foundation in recent weeks. To counterbalance my non-existent morning sickness I seem to have been given the acne problem.
Along with the suggestion of using a special antibacterial soap, it was mentioned to look for and use a water-based foundation instead of oil based.
At the Debenhams event I recently went to I took full advantage of being able to grab a few samples of foundation in between shows and headed to the Lancome counter. The helpful lady matched me up with the Teint Idole Ultra 24hr foundation, which is a water-based foundation and I headed on my way with a sample in hand.
I used the sample for over a week and I just loved it. I can’t say I’ve used a water-based foundation before, but it’s definitely something that surprised me. I love the colour match, I love that it feels quite matte, not oily like some foundations can feel in liquid form, the coverage is great and it doesn’t smell too bad either. At £24 it’s no more expensive than Estee Lauder, so definitely within my budget and so I recently purchased a full bottle.
I’ve definitely lost the love for high street foundations at the moment. Here’s to higher end… for a while at least!
