baby at 30 weeks

With Christmas over and the New Year upon us, I thought I’d give the baby a post of his own. As I’m sure the next 10 weeks will fly by, as much as the last 7 months have. So here’s baby at 30 weeks.

So, he’s now fully grown, has been for a few weeks. Putting on weight, ready to face the outside world. I’d hoped that this meant that I wouldn’t get any bigger, however, it doesn’t work that way apparently. Boohoo.

All is well and healthy with him. He moves around/kicks like a trooper, but it is such an unbelievable unexplainable feeling, yet so comforting at the same time. We bought a doppler from eBay so we could listen to his heartbeat between midwife appointments, which is always warming to listen too.

Baby at 30 weeks meant we could have a 4D scan done. So, we paid privately to have this done, as you only have the two done through the hospital/NHS, which we loved having done, being able to see the change in his structure/features and growth, so we were really eager knowing he was pretty much grown to see what he looked like.
I was hesitant at first, after some googling, as the 4D pictures can look so real, but I’m so glad we went ahead, it was an awesome experience, coming home with photos and a DVD.
I can’t wait to see the resemblance between him arriving and the pictures from the scan.

His nursery is pretty much just waiting for him now. A lot of things we have left in plastic packaging to keep it clean, so I can’t wait to have him home to open everything!
His clothes wardrobe continues to grow, he really will be a ‘Next’ baby/toddler. I haven’t been naive with purchases though, the sales have been well used, I haven’t paid full price for 90% of the items, plus I’ve been buying for now and later, with purchases going up to 9-12 months.

So here’s to the next 10 weeks.
