*SADLY CLOGGS HAS CEASED TRADING.
CLOGGS is actually owned by JD Sports. Stocking over 100 different brands and selling shoes all over the world, it sees it’s time and market as now to make a return to the high street. With branches already on the go down south, where better place to start your northern takeover than York.
I like stores that are sparse, not over packed with products. Clean in display and signage senses, not too fussy and points of sale and different sections clearly marked. For me, I loved this store as soon as I walked up to it. Once inside, its glass and mirrors made it feel not only bigger, but from a shoe store perspective those mirrors were tactically placed to offer as many reflections and angles of your potential new shoes as possible.
After being welcomed into the store, being given a drink and a member of the marketing team introducing themselves. Kelly, who had been in charge of arranging the evening and contacting bloggers, informed us that as a thank you for attending, CLOGGS were going to gift us a pair of shoes of our choice. I couldn’t believe it. I mean, what an amazing gesture.
While mingling and ogling at the vast number of shoes on other, ladies and gents from the marketing team, plus the store manager approached us to chat about ourselves, the store, what shoes interested us, etc. Which was lovely. It was a lovely relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Between nibbling on the available buffet, networking with other/new bloggers and trying on shoes, upstairs there were also two lovely ladies carrying out pedicures for all those that wanted some festive tootsies.
The store has a great range of brands. From Dr Martens to UGGs, to the newer addition of Joules. I’d happily challenge anyone to not find a shoe that they desire. The children’s section had just as much going for it. With Vans, Crocs, and Timberlands on offer. I was very taken by some children’s Ruby and Ed Reindeer slippers. A vast amount of self-control was required to not purchase them and I’m still resisting now!
Upon leaving, we were given a lovely goody bag to take home. It was so nicely boxed and wrapped. Inside were a pair of very handy sole inserts and a nail polish and nail art stick.
True to their word, a few days after the event a lovely green parcel arrived at my door and inside, was what I can only describe as, the most amazing pair of snow boots I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t be more grateful to Kelly and the people at CLOGGS for gifting such an item. I fell in love with these DKNY snow boots when I first laid my eyes on them and I can even go as far to say that they’re actually even more comfortable than my UGGS.
Thank you so much CLOGGS for not only the amazing gift, but also inviting me to be part of your store opening. I promise it wont be the last you see of me, I shall definitely be stopping by when visiting York and wish you nothing but success in your high street adventures.
