The Grainary Farm Stay and Tea Rooms.

The Grainary. “Eat, Sleep, Explore.”

Having come across The Grainary late one year, I didn’t get much chance to visit. But it’s fast become a firm family favourite.

Family owned for many generations, The Grainary is a working farm, with sheep as its main livestock. Located in the small agricultural village of Harwood Dale, which is found in the beautiful North York Moors. This prime location offers spectacular views of the national park and is only seven miles from the local town of Scarborough.

Walkers, day tripping families and foodies. There really is something for everyone.

  • Country Tea Rooms – Bright, open and minimally decorated, the perfectly positioned tearooms allow you to bask in the sun, hide from the rain and be lost in the scenery and rolling hills. Open for lunches, light bites, Afternoon tea, children’s bites or drinks, there’s something for every taste bud and also has a gluten-free menu. View the menus here.
  • Farmhouse Restaurant – The restaurant is open for evening meals and is definitely worth a visit and worthy of its 4 star AA Dining Award it received in 2014. Knowing all ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, plus with locally produced beers and ales makes it taste that much nicer.

Voted #5 in Trip Advisor’s Speciality Lodging, The Grainary boasts two amazing options for accommodation.

  • The Farmstay B&B – Fourteen, individually decorated rooms. Catering for all with double beds, twin beds, family rooms and also disabled and pet-friendly rooms. View the room here.

  • Holiday Cottages – Three newly built and decorated cottages, which can happily sleep up to six people. These cottages are brilliant for families and pets. Have a look here.

Being a working farm, there’s plenty to see. Young children will be happily excited by the tractors and other working machinery. Plus there’s plenty of farm animals to see and meet. Not forgetting the farms two labrador collies, plus four working dogs, whom you’re sure to see pottering around.

There’s also several trailed walks, an outdoor children’s play area, Geocache hunt and a nearly built and stocked games room on site. Plenty to entertain.

What else.

Farm Shop.

Stocked with a wide range of products and produce from suppliers from across the Yorkshire Coast, like Honey, Jams, Chocolates, Biscuits, Cards and Crafts. Take something home to remember your visit.

With the addition of the newly built pergola, Weddings In Wellies has taken it up a step at The Grainary. I mean, look at that view! (cows included) Your dream wedding could be here, or reception if you prefer. All details are catered for, plus The Grainary works alongside some brilliant local businesses and suppliers, to make your day as hassle free and dream-like as possible.
