Well February flew by didn’t it.. Or was it just mine?.
SOCIALLY I enjoyed a lovely trip to York for a ‘Hen Party’ for a yummy mummy friend with the rest of our group. We travelled through on the train, having snacks for lunch, then hit some bars. We then had a giggle at a cocktail class before ending with a civilised meal at The Star Inn The City, which was delicious.
Another friend in our mummy group is soon to pop with her second baby. We attended a baby shower afternoon tea at a local hotel that her family had arranged for her, which was really lovely. It was great to be childfree for a few hours. Ha!
ME… I’ve enjoyed a few treats this month. I treated myself to having my nails done for my friend’s hen do, which is a rarity. It was nice to have them properly filled and painted for a change, as I’m not lying when I say, my near three old could probably do a better job at painting my nails than me!
I also finally started my placement in a school towards my course. It’s such a small but lovely little school with a great family-like atmosphere and dual roles.
Alongside my teaching assistant course, I’ve decided to become qualified to teach gymnastics at primary level. I had to contact British Gymnastics about this, as I qualified in 2000 as an assistant club coach and wast sure what I needed. Although my assistant club coach qualification still stands, I do need to do a separate course/qualification to teach/lead a class in a school. So I’m hoping to get a date for that in a few months. I’m really excited to get back into the sport.
FAMILY. This month we haven’t been able to have ‘date nights’ out since our neighbour/babysitter decided to swan off to Australia to see her children and grandchildren for two months! (How rude!) So the hubby and I have enjoyed a few ‘date nights’ in for Valentine’s and his birthday.
However, we did manage to head out for Sunday Lunch to our favourite place The Grainary. They really do the best Sunday Lunch, look out for the blog post. My mouth waters just looking at the pictures.
THIS SPACE. I’ve been trying to up my Instagram game, yes, I did just say that. I’d love it if you’d pop by and follow me.
I’m also hoping to be posting twice a week soon, so don’t miss out!
As you may have seen I’ve added a tab to the top of my page titled ‘Visit Scarborough’. Here you’ll be able to access all my posts and musings of my beautiful town.
