Lush Spring Collection.
Disclaimer: I am a complete (apart from a lip scrub in yummy popcorn) Lush newbie. So amuse me by reading my thought on the Lush Spring Collection in awe of my knowledge and excitement.
Although I’m told I spend too much time on Twitter, I somehow missed the original tweet looking for York bloggers. Thankfully, I was updated by the lovely Rach and quickly registered my interest, as as I mentioned above, I must be quite a taboo blogger, one that didn’t break the internet on Boxing Day trying to get onto the Lush sale and tweeting about it! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a brand I know of, however just not one I’ve invested my time and money into. So I was looking forward to having an introduction to the brand and seeing demonstrations of their products and see what all the fuss is about.
The store, I can only really describe as a bit of a trip. The shelves are full to the brim with simple bottles and simple labels, but with an array of coloured liquids inside.
Then you can’t help being drawn to the seasonal displays of gifts of all different shapes, sizes, colours and designs. These ones being for Easter / Mother’s Day.
The team were fantastic. They were all so enthusiastic about the brand and products and very knowledgeable. They each took turns to demonstrate and introduce us to products from the Easter/Mother’s Day range. Which I found really interesting. I think sometimes you can get lost in a shop of products and not really know, until you buy and try, what the outcome is going to be, so to see and be able to feel bubbles (yes that’s a thing and yes we did it) was really helpful.
I was definitely taken by the Golden Egg, I mean, look at it, it just looks so luxurious! Although, it is tremendously glittery. My hands were covered just briefly touching it.
I also loved the idea of the carrots. These little beauties are ‘re-useable’ as such, as you just swish them under the taps whilst running your bathing hey presto. Though I will say, the colour of the water, looked less than desirable.
Now I can’t not mention Humpty Dumpty. There was much debate over whether he was cute or sinister. I’m on the fence. But I think I’d be happy to have him in my bath.
Many thanks to all the staff, who were the perfect hosts. Drinks on ice on arrival, some nibbles, a fun-packed evening of games, demonstrations, competitions and plenty of laughs. We were also gifted with a lovely bag of goodies to take home, which I can’t wait to try out.
My lusting of Lush starts here.
