Well, although a long month, it’s been another manic one. But some great times and memories made..
SOCIAL BUTTERFLY. The month started out with smiles, gargles, baby smells and cuddles. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’m broody, but it’s always lovely meeting and seeing friends new babies. It was great to see our friends too. We really don’t see them much, but is always nice catching up, plus with the addition of their first little girl, the conversation and meetups are sure to now be more regular.
What’s second best to meeting new babies? Well, the cake of course! It’s always lovely to keep in touch with friends. Danni and I were well overdue a catch-up, so after eventually ‘booking n’ with each other and choosing to visit The Black Swan in Helmsley, the date was set. It really didn’t disappoint with its award-winning tearoom title. It was a great place to eat and also catch up. There’ll be a blog post coming soon.
Because you can never have too much cake, the following weekend I headed to my favourite place The Grainary for a very late birthday afternoon tea present with a friend. It.Was.Perfect. Not only the food, but it was the most glorious day! No rain! There’ll be a blog post coming soon on this too.
My month hasn’t just been about cake, honest. My little boy and I visited Piglets with some mummy friends and their little boys. It wasn’t the best of days weather-wise and although the boys were completely ‘proofed’ in waterproofs and appropriate footwear etc, we weren’t. We’d all somehow decided upon white converse, which now can only be described as brown. Plus although wearing a decent coat, my jumper underneath wasn’t the warmest. So, in conclusion, we were all basically wet and frozen, standing around watching our boys having the time of their lives. Failed as adults come to mind!
Next on the list of the ‘best things’ after new babies and cake is weddings. Who doesn’t love a good wedding? Although my friend’s wedding has only been planned in 6-8 months from their engagement, it was a truly beautiful day and she just looked stunning! It was lovely to get dolled up and spend some time with the mummies too.
ME ME ME. It’s been a month about a dam good pamper and me time. Though, in all honesty, I could have done without the part of needing new glasses. ‘New glasses?’ you say. ‘I didn’t know you wore glasses?‘ Yes, it’s something as an adult I have yet to accept and sadly, as the test confirmed, my eyes aren’t getting any better, only worse. So a big slap on my wrist and monies later I now have a pair of glasses that I need to wear for TV, internet use, reading and driving. Slap on the wrist accepted I’m on it.
One major plus point, I FINALLY GOT MY HAIR DONE. Yes, capital letters were totally justified as that’s how I feel about it. I cannot tell you the pure joy of just entering the salon. Nothing has changed really. No extreme colour or cut. However, I did show a picture of Amy’s hair for colour. But I’m not naive in knowing our hair is completely different, so I was never going to walk out looking at her. (Dam!) As well as finally getting my hair done, I also booked in to have my brows HD’d and also shellac on my nails, mostly in preparation for my friend’s wedding. I’m loving having my nails done, I guess it’s just the paying part. Really wish I could paint my nails.
