Daisy Tea Rooms, Scarborough is found in the village of Scalby on the outskirts of Scarborough. It is actually just beside the A171/Scalby Road, the main road heading into Scarborough from Whitby. This means it is perfectly situated and easily accessible for travellers coming into the town from the North and also locals alike.
Daisy Tea Rooms, Scarborough Festive Afternoon Tea.
I have visited previously and enjoyed many a hot drink and cafe as well sitting outside and enjoying watching the world and cars pass by, however I’d never visited for an afternoon tea and they were meant to be good. Then I saw their Festive Afternoon Tea and booked my friend and me straight in.
Their festive Afternoon Tea consisted of:
- Turkey, Brie and Cranberry toasted sandwich
- Salad, Coleslaw and Crisps
- Homemade Scone
- Jam and Clotted Cream
- Slice of Christmas Cake
- and a Homemade Truffle.
The toasted sandwich I KNOW! Definitely a new one on me to see at an afternoon tea, but you know what, I\m here for it, especially with it being a Winter edition. (Though toasties are not just for Winter and do work all year round!) A pot of tea is also included, or you can pay extra for a hot chocolate.
The attention to detail, with the scone being not only homemade, but in the shape of a star and really quite big, to the homemade truffle made this not only very yummy, but also quite perfect. It’s things like this that make me enjoy visiting smaller tea rooms, as you find most things homemade and that they really want you to enjoy it and ultimately return.
The building itself, although looks big from the outside, is quite small inside. Spread over two small rooms. That being said, the staff were still very lovely and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed it and left with very full bellies.
My only note to leave you with is that: TAKE CASH. They do not accept card payments.
