Guess who’s back. Back again. Checks are back. Tell a friend. Yup – I definitely just part quoted Eminem AND wore a checked shirt again. What is my life. Or my head. But yes. Here I am wearing my non-looking lumberjack shirt. In a very non-lumberjack way. Hurray for me.
Now I’ve spent some time looking at pictures of myself in two check shirts, (see other one here), I personally think it’s all about the colour and pattern of the check. I believe this is where my original unsureness came from purchasing a checked shirt. That’s not to say I’m now going to go and purchase more, however, I’ll never say never. I have an image in one of my Pinterest boards of a lady in a white vest with a white and grey check shirt and it’s total goals to me. Also, wearing a checked shirt tied around the waist. So many options.
Back to this shirt, which is from Apricot. You may remember when I first featured it on here a month ago, I paired it very casually with my Nike Air Max trainers and some skinny jeans. However, this time I thought I’d see how and if it could worn a bit more smartly. Out for some drinks, for example. Staying true to myself, I wore it with my trusty ripped Next skinny jeans, then I chose to accessorise it with my Whistles clutch and Zara heels. I definitely feel I achieved what I set out. Staying true to my casual and comfy Caroline style.
It’s pieces of clothing like this that I love having in my wardrobe. One week I’m wearing it to a children’s party, the next I’m out for drinks. Versatile pieces from not overcrowded wardrobe.
Are you a checked shirt wearer, or lover? How do you wear yours?
