Life, Blogging, Housework, Repeat.

We put a lot of pressure on ourselves as bloggers. Even those like myself who blog as a hobby/who earn very minimal, compared to some, work hard. There’s never an actual point where you could say you have nothing to do. It’s a never ending circle. Blog/site work and social media – the hours spent fly by!

Like many other people/bloggers, I also have a job. A part-time job, afternoons to be exact. I like the allowance it gives me of a bit of time to myself. My son is in preschool most days in the run up to him starting primary school in September, so this ‘free’ time is spent doing most of the above on my blog.

Let’s talk about adulting.

Then, there are the adulting responsibilities. You know. The ones we try to forget about. Or put off. Or wish said child was a little bit older so he could earn some pocket money. – I hate housework. It’s both boring and well, I could of much better and nicer things to be doing with my time, like sitting having a brew and reading a book- educational.. Saying that, when I’m on it, I’m on it. Apart from cleaning windows and bleaching the toilet. Oh and ironing, I don’t iron. Everything else is go go go on those days. They are few and far between, but they do happen. Now and again. Admittedly, I can be quite lazy. But I believe we all can. And hell, I think as a female, I’m entitled to! Right?

That being said, my husband is fantastic. He’s aways been a man that takes care of himself and likes things clean and tidy. I guess that’s why he’s so good at his job as a valeter.  Around the house we do share the housework – in that, if I don’t/haven’t done it, then he’ll call me lazy and do it! he can never seem to find where his clothes go on a night, or even when they’re clean, and they just end up on the bedroom floor. Day in, day out. It’s weird as I know where his clothes go (in his wardrobe and drawers) and he’s so grateful when I put his clothes away for him, but he just can’t seem to locate it himself. Funny. He’s a good ironer though, so I think it’s fair to say that we compliment each other in housework. Or something like that.

But, there is a but, he can never seem to find where his clothes go on a night, or even when they’re clean. They just end up on the bedroom floor. Day and night. It’s so weird as I know exactly where his clothes go (in his wardrobe and drawers). He’s always so thankful and grateful when I find this ‘secret’ place and put his clothes away for him – but he just can’t seem to locate it himself. Funny. He’s a good ironer though, so I think it’s fair to say that we compliment each other in housework. Or something like that.

As for decorating. Need a room stripping of wallpaper, I’m your lady. I believe my childhood talent of ripping paper apart (mostly into tiny pieces..) has definitely come into it’s own in an adulting way. So many childhood talents do end up having a meaning. It’s brilliant.

I don’t feel I have as much time as some do on my blog, but the husband is a good egg in being OK with being the toddlers play-friend on a Sunday while I get a bit done. And vice versa when he’s doing stuff on his hobby. I wouldn’t say either of us is lazy.. unless popcorn and sweets on the sofa watching ‘rubbish TV’ such as Love Island and Ex On The Beach is classed as lazy..

Here’s something for you.

My boyfriend sounds just like your husband! He’s absolutely perfect when it comes to doing the washing up and the hoovering but he can’t seemed to find the washing basket for some reason!

I hate housework too, I could never make a good housewife!
Unfortunately for me, KC isn’t much better so together we all live in a house of chaos!

I am the lazy one! I hate housework but my partner is quite good and will just go and start hoovering or something without me having to ask.
