Things That Happened In July.

2nd August 2017crelgey

  • July kicked off with a lovely weekend in Leeds with the husband. It felt like forever since I’d booked the tickets but we were so looking forward to seeing Mrs Brown’s Boys live and it did not disappoint. We’d booked to stay at the IBIS Styles hotel just over the road for the night, which was fab. Definitely a budget hotel, but £130 for one night, yes a Saturday, I wasn’t so sure on. We also stopped at the Designer Outlet at York on the way home and made a few purchases and a big splurge on me. My first designer bag. You’ll be seeing it soon I promise.

  • Our village finally got its second pub back up and running, The Denison Arms. Knowing they did a proper Sunday Lunch, not a carvery like the other pub, I could not wait to visit. A couple of weeks in and we did and it was VERY yummy. Well worth a visit if you’re visiting Scarborough or on the outskirts heading west. Have a read of my review HERE.

  • So this month saw the schools break up! Yay! However, it also meant that my toddler is at home for 6 weeks. Aaahhh! Though in all honesty, I’m, definitely embracing the weeks, as although I’ll forever have school holidays off, this is his last as a preschooler, as come September 4th, he’s in reception at Primary school and that’s SCARY! You may be shocked, or not if you know me, to know that I actually have all his uniform sorted. No, quite literally the only things we have yet to purchase are his school shoes (hello Clark’s voucher – Thanks Auntie Joan!) and some new pants!

  • We took our yearly trip to Jedburgh this month, to see our Auntie at her caravan. We love visiting her up there. Though the weather wasn’t completely on our side on the Saturday, but we manned through it to have a BBQ for tea anyways! I grabbed some leaflets from the tourist info centre too, just to get some ideas of other things to do in the area for our next visit.

  • Our toddler hasn’t really been that enthusiastic about learning to ride his bike. It’s been more something that I’ve encouraged him to do. We got into a good routine over the weeks of taking him out on a Sunday or after tea each night during the week for a ride up and down the street. Having not done it too much, we were both surprised how close he was to getting it at the beginning of the month, then come two weeks later, he was off. He hasn’t quite got the setting off on his own yet, but once he’s going he’s good. He’s still not completely enthused about the idea, but I’d really wanted him riding for the holidays so we could take little rides together on our bikes. So keep an eye on Instastories and next months catch up!

  • Yes, I have been quite quiet and MIA this last month. If you hadn’t gathered, it has been to down to be launching my own business. Sadly, I can’t say that I’ll be any much more ‘with it’ over the next month, as with having the toddler at home means I haven’t the time to myself to write, photo, video and edit as I normally do, however, come September, hopefully, things will pick back up into a new routine. – Thank you though, to those that haven’t forgotten me! x

  • This month has seen two, yes TWO Sunday Lunch posts go live. Both of which were equally as good as the other. And the tour continues. I have my next place in mind, however, I’m always looking for local/Scarborough places to add to my list. However, I must point out that it has to be a PROPER Sunday Lunch, NOT a carvery. Leave me a comment.

Oh gosh I haven’t got ANYTHING organised yet for the next school year! I better get my skates on – I always leave tit to the last minute and end up in a panic!
