Perfect Father’s Day Cake From Baker Days.

I can’t be alone in sometimes dreading getting home to mail behind the door. Either for the bills (oh the bills!) or the junk mail of supermarket and takeaway offers. And the poor post people that deliver said items always get the brunt of our anger…

But what if you arrived home to a small parcel. Letterbox sized. Not the kind you have to go back out to your local post office to collect. Something that would not only bring a smile to your face but that contained something you could eat. There and then? No cooking required. Wouldn’t that be the best? Even better as a quick and easy father’s day cake idea!

Enter Baker Days. Your one-stop, friendly, online, celebration or just because, cake shop. Makers and senders of THE perfect, letterbox cake!

Father’s Day Cake.

With Father’s Day a matter of weeks away, I was given the opportunity to choose, review and of course eat a letterbox cake from their Father’s Day cake collection.

With four pages of designs to choose from, plus the choice of size and type of cake, there’s surely something for everyone. Prepare to be lost in a minefield and also being mindful that the cake isn’t for you so you may want the rich chocolate chip option, but you know they don’t like chocolate cake. (though it’s the thought that counts right?)

Once you’ve made the difficult decisions, the ordering process is relatively simple. Delivery, if in advance if generally free (Mon-Fri 8 am-6 pm). However, you do have the option to be more specific with delivery times for an extra cost. At checkout, as well as reviewing all your preferences, you also have the option to add a noted gift card, which is a lovely touch.

Delivery and Opening.

Now, I’m not going to lie, I was a little surprised at the size when the parcel arrived through the letterbox. Yes, I know, it’s a LETTERBOX cake and therefore has to be small and no I don’t know what I was expecting. By the by though, it was perfectly packaged for transit. The cake itself being housed in a vented tin (which I couldn’t help but wonder what I could keep it for…)

The husband was very happy with his cake. Not to mention us all being very eager to get stuck into it!  We were not disappointed. The cake, I’d chosen plain sponge) was even two days after arrival, was soft and moist. Literally just as if it had just been baked. It went down a treat.

That is such a cool gift idea! We celebrate Father’s Day in November here in Finland, though this would make a perfect gift fo any occasion 🙂
