A full month of the Summer holidays and a busy month at that. I also started my Christmas shopping this month… I know. I’m one of those people. But in all seriousness, it really isn’t that far away in the grand scheme of paydays!

I digress, here’s what happened in August.

  1. Summer holiday month. We enjoyed seeing a number of friends for park and beach days, swell as a few days out to the faithful Piglets and local family events, including Thornton Le Dale show; a lovely country village show. We always enjoy watching the action horse show and fmx bikers.

  2. Birthday celebrations continued this month with two 1st birthdays and parties. Our babies aren’t babies any longer. Enter the toddlers! Such fab parties for them and the weather was amazing for both also, which helps!

  3. With the eldest signed up to his first footie team and their offical fixtures not beginning until September, this month saw them compete in a few friendly matches with local teams to help them get used to playing together as a team, plus what’s involved in the day etc. It’s been great watching them. They have such a buzz about them and some real talent to harness. I’m looking forward to the season ahead for them.

  4. We enjoyed our yearly visit to Jedburgh to stay with our auntie in her new caravan. Sadly, the weather was not on our side for our stay. You could say typical UK/Scotland weather. However, it was great to getaway. With the rain pouring we were forced to Google search for the closest soft play area. It was a short 20-minute drive up the road and great to see somewhere new to properly visit another time.

  5. I feel we waited so long for our Flamingo Land visit to see Rak-Su to come around! I’m not a Flamingo Land visitor. I don’t like rides or zoos really, but their concert in the park events have been right up my street and very reasonably priced. I’m sad that I was only able to make it to this particular one, but will definitely be keeping an eye out for next year.

How’s your month been?
