Eat Me, Scarborough.
Eat me, Scarborough is by no means ‘new’ on the boom of an eatery scene that the town seems to be having over the last year. They are by far one of the most popular places to visit, as well as being one of, if not the first premiss to bring the ‘industrial’ decor feel to the town, that seems to be the new and only way of decorating a cafe.
Perfectly situated behind the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Eat Me, Scarborough is a great pre-theatre visit as well as being the perfect stop for visitors jumping off the train at the station opposite.
Eat Me has two delicious menus to choose from, as well as a well-stocked drinks menu and counter cakes and treats.
A breakfast menu; served until 11 am, that has yummy choices such as full and half breakfasts, creamed mushrooms on toast and my favourite – the Eat Me breakfast burrito.
Then there’s a more main meals menu; which is served from 10:30 am. The food is described by Eat Me themselves as;
‘An eclectic mix of British & Asian with a hint of so much more’.
This menu is really where Eat Me comes into its own. Where The Garden Shed has come onto the scene with some novelty eats, Eat Me stands alone with its combinations and generally good food. The menu might not be extensive, but I’m very much a fan of quality and out of the ordinary over quantity. From homemade meatballs and Shetland pie to wraps and sandwiches to Donburi and noodle bowls to mac ’n’ cheeseburgers and sloppy dogs. There are so many amazing meals and combinations to choose from.
Eat Me’s menus cater wonderfully for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, as well as some lactose-free options.
I can highly recommend the Eat Me Sloppy Dog, the Donburi – which was a special and the Panko Smothered Chicken.
Having eaten here on three occasions as of the date of this post, I can honestly say that it is my new favourite place to visit and eat. I’ve easily been able to make table bookings for evenings visits via messaging through messenger. Staff who dealt with my booking, through to our visits were nothing short of friendly and accommodating.
